Local Community Partners

As a networking organization, San Diego Grantmakers strives to collaborate with other nonprofit organizations in the community. Here is a short list of some of our most common partnerships.

SANDAN
The San Diego Association of Nonprofits is an association of San Diego County nonprofit organizations established to represent the role of the nonprofit sector in advancing community well-being. It is based upon the belief that the quality of life of San Diego residents is linked to the existence of a strong nonprofit sector.

Nonprofit Management Solutions
Making high quality, affordable management assistance available and easily accessible for all nonprofits is and has always been the "core business" of Nonprofit Management Solutions. NMS focuses on building capacity not dependence. Management assistance in the form of consulting, training, board and staff leadership development, coaching and mentoring.

San Diego Nonprofit Infrastructure Alliance
The San Diego Nonprofit Infrastructure Alliance is a collaborative of nonprofit infrastructure organizations representing nearly 8000 local nonprofits.  It is SDNIA’s responsibility and desire to provide the greater San Diego community with information about the work being done that enhances the quality of life in the area and the impact that nonprofits have on the region’s economy.

Currently the partnership consists of eight organizations that provide programs, capacity building, advocacy, information, connections, and education for all types of nonprofit organizations. SDNIA currently consists of the following organizations: San Diego Association of Nonprofits, San Diego Grantmakers, Nonprofit Management Solutions, San Diego Performing Arts League, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Volunteer San Diego, 211 San Diego, United Way.

LEAD
Provide intense issue-oriented programming, leadership skill building and community volunteerism opportunities to a growing set of regional leaders who understand and can respond to the quality of life challenges facing the greater San Diego region.

USD Center for Applied Nonprofit Research
The University of San Diego Center for Applied Nonprofit Research is a laboratory examining issues of strategic importance to the nonprofit sector. The Center's objective is to enrich the nonprofit community and those who care about it, by analyzing trends that have an impact on the local sector, publishing and making available reports on characteristics of the local and national nonprofit sector, providing research and evaluation services, and providing access to informational resources that can directly assist practitioners. The Center partners with local nonprofit leaders to learn and examine the region's trends, impact, and issues in order to produce timely and meaningful reports and publications.

USD Nonprofit Leadership & Management Program
An integrated course of study that provides existing and aspiring nonprofit practitioners with cutting-edge leadership theories and state-of-the-art management tools that are used to create high-performing nonprofit organizations. Participants study with faculty from the Schools of Leadership and Education Sciences, Business Administration, and Law as well as from prominent nonprofit practitioners.
